This weekend [livejournal.com profile] corivax and I reassembled the ink-roller pivots and connecting rods on the printing press. It's nice to see visible progress as the number of primed parts grows, and with all these bearing surfaces cleaned and greased the motion of the press is noticably better.

I have a lead slug with my old name on it in a bold italic Bodoni, but nothing to set it in. Do you have any type?

None at all, nor any furniture to set it with. It's fairly cheap on ebay, but just not a priority until I have it all fixed up properly. I don't want to cycle it much until all the bearing surfaces are cleaned out. No use letting the grit in there do any more damage at this point.
