In other news, I think it's about time for my breakfast. Literally, since I haven't eaten in 39 hours. I've been feeling drawn towards mortification of the flesh type expressions recently, and this has been a small little experiment in that direction. Interesting, and not nearly as hard as I expected. I'm only just now starting to really feel hungry, but I was constantly thinking about eating. Purely out of habit. A good lesson to be learned there.

If you're fasting, make sure you drink lots of water to keep well-hydrated.

I don't recommend breaking your fast by chugging half a gallon of orange juice (esp if you didn't follow the above advice).

Not eating! Bad fishy! No biscuit!

Oh, wait...

Do you smoke?

Nope. I used to a bit in high school, though. Just enough to give me a sense of where my addiction boundary is.

Yeah, we (as in pretty much everyone we encounter daily) eat a lot more than we need as a bare minimum. I've never really looked at the hard data, though.
I'd like to know what, exactly, a human being needs as a minimum per day to function. I should look that up.

On the other end of the eating spectrum, I'd also like to know what the foodie scientist people think is the perfect amount of food (per kg & relative amount of activity, or however it's done.) Apparently the Canada Food Guide is good for such things, but I've never read it. But I bet it's better than the U.S. whateveritsequivalent is.

They should hand it out on street corners in front of McDonalds.
