Kitsap Mini Maker Faire

Attoparsec received an invitation to the Kitsap Mini Maker Faire next Sunday (June 5). Which is 1) pretty cool and 2) extremely short notice. It sounds like it is going to be very mini indeed. Should I do it? I could get the el wire interface kits finished by then, and maybe throw together a poster about Attoparsec projects. I could take the lightsuit, maybe throw together a el wire/arduino/interface kit demo to go with it. The fireprop and etched brass fan and goggles, static display only. Maybe the hexapod hip joint (unpowered) and the RC hexapod robot, that would probably be popular. It's too bad the Kalamazoo isn't in working order (though it's getting back into fighting trim surprisingly quickly, will have to make a separate post about that), but renting a trailer to take it over just wouldn't be worth it right now. Given the lack of prep time, and portable projects available to take with me, do people think it would be worthwhile? It would be nice to make Attoparsec a bit more visible, but I don't want to waste anyone's time either.

Visibility's good. Poster 'bout projects sounds good, 'long w/cool stuff that's not too much of a burden to pull together and transport that soon/quickly.

I can't imagine that anything you would do would waste anyone's time. At the worst, they'd just not look, but generally all the things you build are of high interest to geeks. So, if you can spare time, I think you totally should go for it.

Well, you could look at it as sort of a trial-run for the big thing next year(?). Get a feel for showing stuff off in an organized fashion. Develop some patter.
It might be nice to have a writeup or how-to for the goggles/fan/fireprop. Including the processes involved and specifying the availability of the resources required and skill level needed.

Would the kzoo fit in Anna's F250 pickup?

Probably not, it's 4' x 10' and goddamned heavy. It only barely fits in the largest trailer uhaul will let me tow.

4x10 will fit with the tailgate down, and I think it's rated for 2k lbs of goddamned heavy.

The goddamned heavy comment was more about lifting it up into the bed of a truck instead of rolling it up a low trailer ramp. :)

Absolutely do it if it won't make you insane. You have more than enough to show for a mini Maker Faire, and even more to talk about. I think a poster would also be a great idea.

you could take the TARDIS hat too if you want, not sure how interesting that is on its own, but you could

Hey, what to take: howzabout including an appearance by [livejournal.com profile] ladydrakaina in her TARDIS dress w/the Attoparsec-creation headgear?! It'd be a crowd-pleaser along w/whatever else you take along.
