I found a surprise on the porch this morning:

It hopped around and mostly seemed curious about me. I tossed it some Wheat Thins, but it didn't recognize them as food. I watched for a bit to make sure it didn't need help. Eventually some other crows yelled at it (and maybe me) and led it into another yard. My resident corvid expert tells me that juveniles sometimes leave the nest a day or two early, and are usually fine as long as their parents are still watching over them. I hope it's okay, poor little awkward thing.

This one was a bit small, yes, maybe 80% of normal for around here. We do get larger ravens out in the country, but nothing like the huge monsters you guys do. That was one of the nicer surprises when we drove up to Alaska.
