vixyish's back pains got so bad during the night that we went into the ER. Turns out to be a big muscle spasm. They gave her a super-ibuprofen injection and a scrip for valium. She will be resting today and I will be working on calming down from 'omg mysterious back and neck pains on the left side of the body bad enough to wake someone up, go go go!'
So, in conclusion, we moved out towards the suburbs and now my wife is on valium. We're totally living the American Dream.
Yeah; mine is lower-back -- a muscle that's down underneath the ones that are easier to reach. In your case, the right kind of massage might be able to work out the spasm; I often have pretty good luck with Colleen's shoulder muscles.
Also, avoid using a mouse, if it's the appropriate hand. (And if it is, try switching to a trackball.)
