Caption... oh, forget it

I know it's cliched and trite at this point, but I have trouble expressing just how disturbing Michael Jackson is. For god's sake, look at that mugshoot! I think he is evolving into some kind of reptile. Those are nictitating membranes, I swear. He has obviously gone through the cosmetic surgery equivalent of cyber-psychosis. Lost too much humanity and gone completely NPC. And he didn't even get a powered exoskeleton or augmented reflexes in return.

Another great SF idea ruined by reality. The singularity isn't going to be about people pioneering radical news ways of being. It won't be about escaping the prison of the flesh or even about being violently replaced by a superior mechanical race. It is going to be about has-been, self-absorbed pop stars who have the money and ego to live forever at any cost. This is what people want to use technology for. The change won't happen overnight, but some day we're going to wake up and realize that we have all become just like Michael Jackson.

Dammit. That was the scariest thing I've read all day. Bad fishie.

Honey,

Don't ever do that again. When I went to my friends page and and saw that picture I nearly fell off my chair.

Never mind the scalpels. When we lose our compassion, as MJ appears to have for some people, that will be the singularity.

What, you mean when the singularity comes, we'll have all become child molesters?

*Yawn*. I think I'd rather get worried that computers will have designed a replacement for all human beings, and its time to go to war with our mechanical children.

I think MJ is yet another example of someoen who overstayed their 15 minute welcome, and is paying the price in personality-warp. I think for many, death comes easier and more cheaply.

lol, aaah.

That was great. Although, also, obviously, thoroughly disturbing.

But I'd already decided that when I start seeing the signs, I'm going to go live on a mountaintop.

I thought it was really impressive, as I was on the subway this morning looking in disbelief at this picture, that he couldn't even make his lips into a downward curve or a straight line or *something* for a mugshot. It's scary. Very scary.
