I just got back from a 2 day camping trip on the Olympic peninsula and the first thing I do is post pictures. Actually the first thing was go to kendo. Then I annotated the images, then I started burning Escape Key CDs, then I practiced guitar, then I looked at information on driving to Alaska. But then (and by then I mean now) I posted pictures.
In the Albertsons in Port Angeles, proper grammar is only for the handicapped. The Militant Grammarians of Massachusetts and Les Assassins des Fauteuils Rolents were getting into a fairly serious rumble in the parking lot as we left.
The campground was great, with some absurdly pretty scenery, tidepools and World War II fortifications. It also had at least one seriously pushy raccoon.
Did you know that it is illegal to possess only the siphon of a geoduck? It is. (WARNING: Huge image so you can read the text.)
Having recently watched Rivers and Tides, we were inspired to make our own nest-like driftwood thing. (Arty picture 1, arty picture 2.)
I always though 'fun' was measured in units of tiny candy bars, but what do I know?

Fathoms o' Fun is Port Orchard's 4th of July celebration. I dunno what-all they still have going on, but when I was a kid there was always a carnival for a couple weeks (big event of the year for kids!), soap box races (my racer was called Angela's Arrow), a frog jump, jalepeno pepper eating contest, snake race, pet parade... Hm, I guess there must've been more for adults, too. :) And of course the fireworks display over Sinclair Inlet on the 4th.
