Absinthe

So I finally tried absinthe. It is... hard to drink. The kind of aftertaste that stalks you for hours, waiting for an unguarded tastebud to molest when you're least expecting it. We found it works pretty well mixed with Sprite, one shot for every can. Which may sound blasphemous or something, but isn't that far off from the traditional water-and-sugar dilution.

As for the results, it was a lot like being drunk. (The 70% alcohol by volume probably had something to do with that.) But it was a very... light drunk. Mostly just the social side effects without many of the physical. Pure extroversion.

I think I could probably really get into it. I do tend to enjoy acquired tastes. But it's far too expensive and hard to obtain for regular consumption, so it will probably just remain an interesting experiment.
