During a fairly interesting panel on carbon nanotubes, I saw someone wearing a tshirt with the following design:

I am ashamed to admit that it took me about a minute to work it out in my head. My calculus skills are rusty. I couldn't help laughing out loud when I realized what it was, as much from surprise that I hadn't guessed as surprise at such a... dorky tshirt. Rather funny, but crude and not something I'd actually wear. After relating this to a fellow filker, he came up with the following alternative:

I should start a CafePress store selling them. If you're going to be a geek (and a tshirt with an integral on it is geeky, no way around that) then why limit yourself to such a tired and mundane referant?

okay okay let's pretend that I failed calc 1. But the first one I come up with '9' and that doesn't seem very funny. What's the answer? (I won't even try number 2 if I can't do number 1 anymore.) (although just having done it I come up with '0' which again makes me think I'm making big mistakes.)

Aaaaaaaaaargh!

Now that I've switched to UW dialup, I can't access cyphertext.net.

This makes me cry. :-(

Heh, Glad you liked my shirt =) It's TOTALLY dorky, which is, of course, why I enjoy wearing it. If nothing else, it usually is a great conversation starter =)

Oh, and they are already available on the net -- http://www.instantattitudes.com/shirts/t005.html

I can't see the pictures. I'm sure I know what the first one is. What's the second one?

Okay. It took me a bit longer to get the second one, but both are equally dorky. I could see a T-shirt with both.
