open question

Over the last two days we have watched Empire Records and UHF. What do they have in common, besides being light-hearted comic romps? They end in triumphant, impromptu street parties.
[livejournal.com profile] xiadyn commented on this as an interesting subgenre. So I'm trying to list movies that fit this catagory, but we can only think of the following off the top of our heads. Suggestions?

Empire Records
UHF
Pump Up The Volume
Muppets From Space

Various of the star wars movies... They seem to like that whole alien worlds with street parties theme for endings. :-)

I was just going to say that -- Ep. I ended in a definite street party, although it was probably not as impromptu as the others. :)

Antz and Ghostbusters.

Every breakdancing movie ever. Or at least Breakin 2: Electric Boogaloo, and I assume Breakin itself, but I think I've only seen the sequel and knockoffs.

I can't believe I didn't think of it when I posted the original entry, but Real Genius fits.

Though not in the full 'rock band and dancers spontaneously appear' glory this subgenre offers.

Does High Fidelity qualify?

Air Heads. Although the street party is right before the end of the movie.
