I just got back from seeing <a href-"http://us.imdb.com/Title?0253474">The Pianist, which was very good. I'm starting to really appreciate Polanski. But more importantly, it means I've seen all of the movies on IMDb's Top 100. This has been a goal of mine for about 10 months. It took rather longer than I expected, but I'm easily distracted by intriguing tangents. (Paths of Glory inspired me to really flesh out my Kubrick experience, Chinatown led to Polanski, etc.) Also, the darn thing keeps changing! (This is mostly due to new movies that start with very good reviews -- at first, only people who really like a movie bother to review it. They slowly drift down and out over time. But at least this gives me a head start on my next goal: the full IMDb Top 250.)
Later tonight I'll write a brief review of all 100. I've been wanting to do that since <lj site="livejournal.com" user="doctorpepper"> made this post and this post last June. Haha, long term goal setting does pay off!
