Lead weight casting

I just put up a new Attoparsec blog entry on casting lead weights for the flywheel. It was a fun little side project.

I like the look of those. I also like that one is different, because with that you could put a sensor somewhere on the frame and count RPM in a pointlessly complex and inefficient way. Perhaps this could be enhanced by some sort of strobe.

The first one might've been affected by out-gassing, as I imagine it wasn't post cured after you made the mold initially. Was it a tin-cure or a plat-cure silicone? Plat handles temps better, if I remember right.
