I have a new, full-scale hydraulic system up and running for hexapod prototype work. I posted details in the normal place, but here's the video with a test run last night.



Delightfully terrifying! As this project moves into larger scales, I'm really going to have to be careful. It will have the power to rip me in half. On the other hand, what a great excuse to get some crush hazard signs!

That's what I'm primarily making it for, but I'll drag it to all kinds of places if I it's as awesome as I hope! :)

There are plenty of pinch points where the frames meet that would absolutely remove a finger right now. Losing a limb would take a bit more work at the moment, but once I get a full leg made -- much less several all moving in synchrony -- it will be a real hazard. (Or just getting my head caved in, somewhat more likely and just as unpleasant.)
