I have my Norwescon schedule -- they remembered to actually put me on panels this year! Seems weird I didn't make the el-wire panel, but whatever. Should be fun. I'm thinking of extending a hotel room through Thursday night, and just have a nice long, complete con for once. I was already planning on taking Friday off anyway.
Flights of Victorian Fancy
Thursday 8pm Cascade 4
How did people fly during the Victorian Era (1837 to 1901) and how could they have flown, with a little more imagination? Come join our panelists soar on wings of history and fantasy, powered by steam, and just a little bit of punk.
Attaching This to That
Saturday 6pm Cascade 13
Ever ask yourself, “How the heck can I attach foo to bar? Should I weld it? Sew it? Glue it? Tape it? And if so, what kind of welding material? What kind of glue? What kind of tape?” Artists using all types of different media will be here to offer their expertise, share their own stories, and answer your questions.
Alternative Energy in the Age of Steam
Saturday 8pm Cascade 8
We know how the world of the late 1800s met its energy needs, but how might they have done it, with yesterdays materials and techniques, but today's knowledge?
Unique Techniques
Sunday 10am Cascade 7
There are many unusual techniques and processes that an artist might find difficult or daunting, but which can actually be done in one’s own home without too much difficulty. Come to learn about the possibilities of using jeweler’s saws and etching metal, how to make wood gears and other complex items using publicly accessible laser cutters, and some basic electronics. You'll even learn how to do blacksmithing on a small gas-fired forge!
The Next Big Thing
Sunday 2pm Cascade 10
The Big Thing of the last 50 years was computers; they changed pretty much everything. What is the nest big thing, and when will it arrive?

I dunno, maybe I will take it, just as a static prop. Wouldn't be that hard to do.
