Lightsuit

I finished the lightsuit last week! Something of a write-up posted here. The most important part is the video, of course, which shows how ridiculously awesome it is in action. (Or so I like to think.)

Awesomesauce! The world needs a video of you walking around in it, though. I'd like to see the "local Gs" mode in action. Was it a big hit at Strowler Nights? I would assume it would draw a lot of interest.

I'll put up an action video once I get that mode tweaked to my satisfaction. Right now it only really works if I jump up and down. What I really need to do is cut a hole in the project box so I can program the Arduino without completely disassembling things, making debugging on this phase a lot easier. (And this more likely to happen.)

Yeah, it was a pretty big hit. Slightly easy crowd, though, since most weren't Burners and hadn't been exposed to el-wire before. But it made two weeks in a row of excuses to wear crazy gear in Seattle. Feels pretty nice to build the "Fish brand" here as well as BRC. :)

This is great! And 10 months before Burning Man means it will be indestructible by the time you get there.

I can hope! It would be nice to get through a BM without having to break out the soldering iron. Though there is something uniquely satisfying about fixing electronics problems in that environment. Very Scrapheap Challenge...

Aha, but you can just set up a workspace with "office hours" and fix other people's electronics problems. That should cover you in glory while you're at it, too.

That rocks, and so do you!

did you wear this at SeaComp? When I saw you, you were dressed normally, no blinkies. (leaving the dance room, early in night)

No, I was aiming for SeaComp but didn't get it finished until the next week. I did have my laser helmet on, though, which I hope doesn't count as too normal.
