An odd weekend

This weekend I:

• Drove up to Vancouver.


• Gave a presentation on the early history of railroads and locomotives. Probably my last UDLS.


• Had my first (minor!) motorcycle accident, laying down a friend's bike at maybe 20 mph. Wasn't really hurt, just left limping for the rest of the day and feeling very stupid.


• Saw the A-Team movie. \m/


• Did some more smithing, despite all the post-accident soreness. My muscles and calluses are coming back in nicely.

Why oh Why do you children insist on playing with those things - it strikes terror deep in my heart and gives me an uncontrollable urge to say I told you so. Just seems that everyone I know that ever rode one got hurt 'cept me of course - I quit riding the second time I went through a fence (barbed wire both times) without a scratch and had my license suspended by a small town cop - I was given the choice of leaving the paper in his care or facing a litany of charges - one of the better things that happened to me. Some cops are nice - in retrospect.
