It looks like I have a job. Which is excellent timing, as my financial situation was getting rather dire. I'll be doing test engineering for a subsidiary of a Large Japanese Firm which makes a computer vision based industrial metrology system. I've never done QA before, but I was feeling so fed up with software development that it should be a nice change. Some software, some hardware, lots of different tasks, learning new things.

So, well, yay!

I had to look up "metrology". Sounds like QAing this sort of thing could be a lot of fun... like placing things in front of cameras, changing the lighting/smokiness level, etc.

If QA is anything like the way Ben graded Computer Graphics, it should be fun.
