What's with all this media obsession about the lunar impact planned for tonight? Was no one paying attention when they did this 10 years ago? Neat, but hardly a big deal.

The media is a goldfish. It's immediately accessible memory is probably around six months to a year long, maybe five years at the outside.

Honestly, what bugs me more is the misreporting of the science that's supposed to be behind this experiment.

One of the things they're trying to prove is that there's ice in them thar craters. (In really small amounts.) But I hear the news saying things like, "if there's water on the moon, it means we can build permanent bases there".
