There is a prescription drug for thicker eyelashes.

THERE IS A PRESCRIPTION DRUG FOR THICKER EYELASHES.

I'm so glad I'll be back on the playa in a bit over a day. Things make sense there.

I hope you'll be taking pictures and blogging the experience again. I loved getting to experience it vicariously through your particular mindset.

That drug, lumigan, was originally used -- and is still used -- for glaucoma treatment for lowering your interocular pressure. The *side-effect* was making your eyelashes grow. Other common side-effects include reddened eyes, changes your iris color, and blurred vision. Apparently now people are sueing the company over some of those.

I've heard that this drug is an enormous boon to people with alopecia, too. That it has a cosmetic benefit is hopefully enough to keep the price low.

It's for people like my mother, whose eyelashes tend not to grow back if they fall out. She's been missing about a third of them on one of her eyes for about 40 years.

It may be used for that, but it is marketed as a cosmetic product. Take a standard makeup commercial, add a "side effects may include" section, boom. Scary stuff.
