Who is going this year, and where will you be? It's always nice to be able to meet up with people I know.

I'm going down with my dad and a friend of his, but we don't have an assigned camp location. Not that our camp will be particularly exciting anyway, as I still haven't managed to find the regulator for my forge. I'll register the address under 'Sietch Dockrey' once we get set up, and maybe I'll find some open wifi again to post it here. No promises, though.

I has a sad. No Burnin' the Man for me.

As for a fremen camp; do you have a newsletter? I'd like to subscribe to it.

I'll let you know. I'm still trying to think of a non-fatal stillsuit design, and a way to do full blue eyes without the cost/risk of corneal damage from full scleral contacts. I know I'd like to make a sandworm vehicle, articulated in segments like little rounded train cars.

Ok, I've got it. We get one of those diesel truck tram dealies like they have in the parking lot at Disney World. (http://www.floridareview.co.uk/images/disney-tram.jpg) Then we dress it up like Shai-Hulud. Then we drive people around with it.

This solves 3 problems:
1 - We have an art car.
2 - Major DUNE points.
3 - We are able to provide mass transit (to a limited degree) to the playa, thereby smashing the elitist art car have/have not divide.

Ideas:
- The tram is steered via worm riding ropes from the top of the tram "engine".
- The end car is devoted to a sound system/sietch-themed bar/lounge. In the bar, we serve an original, high-octane alcoholic beverage that we call the "water of life".
- Solid blue contacts.

Ooh, I am so there about smashing that elitism. That is absolutely my least favorite social aspect of the event.

If we're really dreaming, I want some kind of rotating ring that lets people get up to the roof using a maker hook.

There has been/is talk every year about a genuine mass transit system, usually in the form of a temporary railway. I'll believe it when I see it. The only thing that comes close would be the green bikes, but damned if I saw a free one the entire event last year.
