At max transparency they pass 32% of the light, which (thanks to the logarithmic nature of human vision) is fine for use inside at night. At the other end, they're more or less opaque, getting into welding goggle levels of attenuation (not that I'd ever use them for that!). Because of restrictions in the gear ratios, I don't actually get the full range, but I don't often need full opacity anyway. (Mark II will have a microphone and Peril Sensitive features, though.) It's proving very hard to get the two lenses balanced in transmission, and keep them there, so usually there is a bit of mismatch between the two, but that's only visible at the higher levels of opacity so far.

Obviously you need a light sensor behind each one and independent servos! Perfect! Until one sensor gets smudged...

In any case, that is superb work.
