This is cute, but only 14 feet? Who ever listed "14 feet of rope" on their character sheet? I'll stick with my utility belt and its full 50 feet. (Though I really need to make a new one, the Mark II is getting awfully worn out.)

I can see some benefit, I suppose, if the 14' is quick to unwrap and that's all you happen to need, but your 50' really seems superior even beyond size. That bracelet thing seems like the sort of thing one wouldn't wear all the time.

Yeah, I've never actually tested the deployability of my rope, for fear of the pain of getting it all back in. Theoretically, though, I can do it without taking the belt off or compromising its belt-like nature, thanks to the canvas sheath.

Untested? I'm shocked.

Sad but true. I've yet to find an emergency situation which called for 50 feet of rope, and trust me I've been looking for them. I think it's a tragic failure of my lifestyle as much as anything.

That's why we have SETs (http://www.arrl.org/FandES/field/setguide.html). If you can't find an emergency, fake one. ;)

Like a very hot member of the Armed Forces who has to ship out the very next day, so you have no time to waste?

I'd stick it on my messenger bag and then forget about it.
