(no subject)

Tonight's D&D session involved anaphylactic shock, an angry fire elemental enslaved in a furnace (in whose voice I very much enjoyed speaking), an army of mass-produced golems, sympathetic bee magic, and metalurgically-based tactical decisions.

...yeah, that's pretty much what happens when you make me DM.

Oh, heh. So, the mage making the golems had gone through several iterations of design, in part because of corrosion issues. The party had met some of these old discarded versions, and in doing so had gathered some instant rusting powder that was a by-product of an attempt to make, basically, magical stainless steel. I just added that as a fun little detail, and it was useful for disarming some very nasty animated mantraps guarding a treasure. But later on, when faced with new-and-improved bronze golems, they tried using it there as well. Which, of course, didn't work, since bronze doesn't rust. It didn't end up hurting them all that much, but they did waste a perfect AoE grouping trying it out.

I'd like to play in your game. Too bad the commute would be a bear. :D

Even though I wasn't paying too much attention, I enjoyed your fire elemental voice. :D
