Last Friday I gave my fifth UnDistinguished Lecture Series presentation, this time on Mayan glyphs. Here are the slides, if you're interested. As usual, the slides aren't very text heavy, but they should be easier to follow than the crayon one last year.

Mind you, if anyone has reason to frown, it's soviet scientists from the fifties, given they had survived the thirties and forties as undergrads and postgrads. For a brief summary of the source of that sort of frown, read "Five Billion Vodka Bottles to the Moon: Tales of a Soviet Scientist"
