safely arrived

I'm in DC, at my brother's place. Well, Silver Spring, Maryland, technically. It's very cold here. But more importantly, we have the physical tickets for the inauguration. We are GO.

I think we're going to spend the day wandering around Smithsonians. Stay tuned for updates!

Near the Silver Spring Metro station, I hope. Do yourself a favor and get off at Federal Triangle, one stop north of Smithsonian. It's only three more blocks and it saves you from the crush of humanity. The conductors agree!

It wasn't crowded at all, as it turns out. I think the 20-degree weather probably had something to do with that.

Enjoy the Smithsonians. I haven't been there in twenty-five years, but I can stil remember seeing some utterly fantastic exhibits.
