As Foreign Policy editors' blog points out, AIG owns the Manchester United sponsorship. Which means the federal government now owns it. (By 80%, anyway.)

1) Reality just keeps getting weirder.
2) I think they should be renamed to United States United.

Replacing the AIG logo with a big federal seal would be pretty funny. Alas, sponsors do not get naming rights. Though the actual owner (Malcolm Glazer) is American as well, so maybe he could be sold on the idea...
