So, I learned a new kendo lesson tonight: even if there is only 10 minutes left in class, when your men (helmet) starts to come loose and you have to retie it, spend the time to do a proper job. I didn't, see, and not 30 seconds later it was flying across the room. Which I'm sure looked wicked awesome from the outside, but up close and personal it was rather rough on my nose and ears. (And had my partner not been paying attention, could have resulted in a nice concussion as well. He was definitely hitting hard enough.)

Yeah. I did say I came to grad school to learn to be more rigorous...
