Dexterous mastication

Oh wow, being able to chew on the right side of my mouth without risking 6-7 Likert scale pain is amazing. And being able to drink beverages that aren't exactly body temperature. And being able to breath in slightly cold air. It's just all so novel! And best of all, the problem wasn't even major. No root canal, no crown (yet). And I even lucked into finding a dentist almost as cool as Dr. Tarr in Seattle.

Yay, not having to think about your teeth with every waking moment!

Who's the cool dentist? I'm looking for a new one now that the guy I've been going to forever has hired a dental hygienist who terrifies me.

Dr. Paul Newitt (http://www.smile.ca/). He doesn't have digital xrays, but he does use a binocular microscope when working on your teeth, which has a live video feed displayed on a flat panel mounted on the ceiling so you can watch. Which was pretty fun. He isn't as insanely paranoid about causing the slightest amount of discomfort as Dr. Tarr, but still a nice guy and quite willing to talk over technical details when deciding on a course of action.

Truth in advertising! He used one one me today. Each pulse created a little steam explosion as it ablated away some of my tooth, and the power supply has a nicely ominous hum.
