Aw crap. I think I've become so sensitive to caffeine that the bag of Oreos I've been working my way through over the last few days has been enough to make itself felt. And here I was thinking I was approaching 3 weeks clean. :P

You wouldn't be the first... [livejournal.com profile] jenkitty quit the caff cold turkey before we got married, and the next time she tried having a cuppa it was.... not good. She was years avoiding chocolate, then just having a little bit, and she's finally got to where she can use caffeine medicinally if she doesn't use too much.... and this has been 11 years now next month.

I read in a food magazine-- one of your mom's magazines, actually last time we were there-- that the average chocolate bar has approximately as much caffeine as the average cup of DECAF coffee.

I think the whole "chocolate is loaded with caffeine!!1!!one!!!" thing is a myth. Or is at least a bit overexaggerated.

No, there certainly isn't much in cocoa. Which is why this is so freaky.

Well, so maybe it's something else, is what I mean. Like the sugar? Is it that you're getting shakes again, or can't sleep, or...?

Shakes, standard sleep disturbances (falling asleep on the bus home, then insomniac later), general internal jitteriness. It's either caffeine or meth. :P
