  1. Rock Band... rocks.

  2. Drums on Rock Band rock even more.

  3. I desperately wish I had the time/space/money to get it up here.

  4. I can do all but the toughest songs on hard now, and some of the easier ones on expert.

  5. I would sell any part of my anatomy not directly required for drumming to get a collection of Violent Femmes songs released.

  6. The drum pedal is likely to break in half, being somewhat underengineered plastic. If you're playing someone else's kit, you'll feel pretty guilty about this. (Sorry, [livejournal.com profile] tfabris!)

  7. You can send it in for replacement, but that takes forever and only treats the symptom of a bad design. The problem itself can be fixed. In this case I ordered a cute little kit off ebay, but only because all my tools are in storage. (Ha! I'm blaming my tools and you can't stop me!) Cutting your own diamond plate would be pretty easy.

No need to feel guilty. I knew it was going to happen soon enough, the pedal-breaking issue is well known, and it's entirely a design flaw; not your fault at all. The fact that you did the awesome professional-looking repair instead of the cheap half-assed repair I would have done makes me quite pleased. In other words, I'm *happy* you broke it, it means that now I've got the awesome unbreakable diamond plate version. :-)
