I've put up a page with Mackenzie canoe trip pictures. I'm going to keep working on it, adding planning details to help other maniacspeople who want to do it as well, but the basic day-by-day summary is all there now. Enjoy!

Wonderful!

What happened to the canoe in the end?

I can't imagine the two of you undertaking this without books; what was on the reading list during the trip?

I sold it to a nice family that runs a bookstore and B&B in Inuvik for $50. They got a great deal, and I didn't have to deal with driving with it for 5 days only to sell it on Craigslist once I got back. :)

We did take quite a few books, but didn't end up reading a whole lot. I finished Sartre's The Age of Reason and reread A Voyage for Madmen. [livejournal.com profile] adularia read A Voyage for Madmen on the drive up, then read most of The Age of Reason before it was lost, and started on Hyperion. We listened to audio book copies of HP 1 and 2 on the drive back down, and she read HP 5 (I was too busy driving) which she bought in Whitehorse. (All the copies in Inuvik were already spoken for, but we did go to the midnight release party.)
