The Great Material Continuum

Today I recycled all1 the broken and/or hopelessly ancient electronics that I have accumulated over the last 10 years. I am now $70 poorer but with a lot less that needs moving this summer.

9 assorted NICs and sound cards
8 cases (most including mobo and drives)
8 hard drives
8 keyboards
4 power supplies
4 optical drives
2 laptops
2 ethernet bridges
2 PDAs
1 external RAID
1 2400 baud modem
1 zip drive
1 floppy drive
1 monitor
1 TV

(not all pictured!)

I really am a packrat. But you should see my parent's place. I come by it honestly.

1: Haha, a little fib. Of course not all. But most!

Considering the lb/mile tariffs, you're probably much better off having found a place to dispose of it for "only" $70. As we have a similar problem over here, we're seeking sources to offload a similar stack of obsoleted electronics...

I'd ask for the hard drives, but Sweetie says I can't have them until I get rid of the pile I've got. :(

Is that the RAID at the bottom of the picture? didn't I give/sell you that?

Yeah, back in 2000 or something. I never ended up using it beyond as set dressing in First Rule. =\
