Confluences

I realized today that we'll have the opportunity to get a couple of unvisited primary degree confluences during the canoe trip. One is only 500 meters off the river! Of course, everything up there tends to be nasty bog and muskeg, but hopefully at least one of them will work. There just aren't many chances to do anything like real exploration these days.

That's cool! I think it's funny that every state adjacent to mine, which have some of the hairiest topography in the US, has had every primary degree confluences already logged.

You could make something like snowshoes, some sort of flotation device, but I bet it'd be bulky to haul along in the canoe.

I'm surprised NWT remains so open. Almost all of Mongolia's confluences have already been taken.

Mongolia isn't so soggy, or full of mosquitos, from what I hear.

probably fewer polar/grizzly bears, as well.

Ooh, somebody actually got into the Piketon uranium enrichment plant and finally got the last one in Ohio... I haven't look at that site in ages...
