If all went well, the registration form for April Tools has been sent out. That means that my team, The Archimedes Screwballs, consisting of myself,
randomdreams,
neuro42 and
niac will be competing. We'll have 3 hours to build a wood boat out of unknown materials only using hand tools. Some lucky subset of us will then get to race it around the harbor, probably getting very wet in the process.
All this happens on April 30, starting at 10:00. If people want to come cheer us on, that would be cool. It's a ~5 hour drive from Seattle, so the team itself is hopefully all heading up the night before. I know others plan to head up Saturday and maybe miss the first part of the build. If nothing else, it's a great excuse to see the Sunshine Coast, which has the odd distinction of being on the mainland, just a bit north of Vancouver and yet still only accessible via ferry.
