The second machete is done. It could probably use a bit more sharpening, but that's not urgent. All in all, I'm fairly satisfied with it. A worthy second attempt. The handle is pretty good, though I still need to get some real cutlery rivets. The blade is cracked, as I previous posted, and more warped than I would like. The finish isn't mirror perfect, but I really like the burnished, aged look it ended up with. The scabbard, my first foray into leatherworking, is very solid with some uneven stitching. (It also, when worn on the left, holds the blade edge up, which I later realized is probably unusual for machetes. Too much experience with Japanese blades.)

Now I just need to find an adventure for this summer where I can use it...
