Also, I finally have a region-free DVD player! I should have done this about 5 years ago, but the old Panasonic only just started to die. To celebrate, I rented the first season of Survivors.

What kind? I have a Malata (from China), though my Mac also works, due to a widget that lets me reset its allowed region change count.

A Yamaha S657 which they sell at Scarecrow for exactly this purpose. Before now I've always ripped DVDs to get around regioning, but that's a pain.

I think Scarecrow was actually selling Malatas years ago when I got mine (from another source).
