Why do people bid on eBay auctions before the last 5 minutes? Don't they realize that being the top bidder at any point except when the auction closes is meaningless, right? It only serves to drive the price up. Grrr.
Some people would prefer that it be a matter of what you're willing to pay for something, let the pieces fall, no need to track... rather than a rush to see who can refresh his/her browser the fastest over and over and over for five minutes.
