As if prep for grad school and the summer canoe expedition wasn't enough, I'm starting to work on a video project. It's been way too long since I've done any video work, and it's nice to get back in the saddle.

Today we filmed B-roll of a very beaten up Kia driving in circles, and ran wiring in it to power/control some, um, non-standard features. We'll get the switches mounted on the dash this week, then get started on building the CENSORED and the EXPURGATED devices.

Flamethrower. See if that reflective anti-laser/anti-photo-radar stuff they sell in the back of Car&Driver actually works. Drive through a one-way Extreme Tire Damage parking lot device. Later in the programme: what happens if you have a blowout at 55 mph? Front? Rear? Two, simultaneously? How about if someone makes a mistake and puts antifreeze in the oil? Or puts 8 quarts of oil in? What does it actually look like up close when someone opens the radiator cap on an overheated engine?

i didn't open the radiator cap, but i did have a heater hose let go on me, it wasn't pretty!

I was standing behind someone who opened the radiator cap on an overheated engine. I don't know exactly what happened, but it hurt. (The person who opened it was the brightest human I've ever met: PhD at 23. She didn't, however, believe the little but very vivid danger symbol in the manual.)
