not a bad evening

It isn't often that you get to fix a tent using a lathe. How very satisfying. Even better than having the right tool for the job is having just the perfect little piece of brass rod in your scrap heap. And I now smell of machining oil and epoxy, which is a dangerously sexy combination if you ask me.

Vixy reminded me last night that you might know where I can get a loading dock.
My parents are trying to deliver a pallet of stuff from Ohio and they're having a hard time getting it delivered to the house.

With the printing press, we shipped it to a shipping depot in Fife. We rented a truck with a liftgate and picked it up from there. It worked okay, but the liftgate on the truck we has was a bit undersized for something as topheavy as the printing press. Also, getting a palletjack earlier in the process would have made things a lot simpler.

Do you have the information for that shipping depot?
Could you email it to me?

We don't have to worry about the same kind of weight issues. Mostly we'll be taking the stuff off the pallet there to fit the pieces in different cars/vans/ etc

I'll ask if corvi still has the details, since it set things up.
