Hrm. Pan's Labyrinth was good. Beautiful and very sad. However, Children of Men wins for this weekend. It's pretty rare that I find myself literally (yes, I really do mean literally here, not literally-as-hyperbole) on the edge of my seat, but I completely bought the premise, emotionally. In a weirdly incidental way, it might also be the best war movie I've ever seen. Some of the action shots are nothing short of awesome. (Again, in the real/original sense of the word. They filled me with awe.)

Someone's going to lend me their copy for the weekend. I hope I enjoy it as much as you did! :)

Saw both those movies this last weekend also. Interesting that both had somewhat ambiguous endings. Whether they were "happy" endings or not would depend on the viewer's outlook.

Actually saw Children of Men with my parents. Been a long time since I went to a movie with them.

Both good movies.
