Currently, Mercury is exactly between the Earth and the sun. Which, while not a particularly rare occurnace, is still something I would like to see. For the last week we've had thick, heavy rain. Today is only partially cloudy with lots of blue sky -- except the parts right around the sun. Bah. I'll be a lot more annoyed if I can't see the transit of Venus in 2012, but still.

You, at least, have a couple hours of daylight left. Here in Southeastern Michigan, it's been overcast all day, and the sun has nearly set. Western Michigan looks better, but that's not where I am.

So I taught the telescope lab instead.
