about freaking time

The Washington State Supreme Court will announce their ruling on Andersen, et al. v. King County tomorrow morning, a completely ridiculous 16 months after the case was argued.

We should have been first, but second to allow gay marriage would be pretty cool too. Here's hoping. It sure would be nice to get this behind us and move on to whatever the next big civil rights issue will be. Go go progressive forces of modern history!

What I don't understand is why people are challenging DoMA on due process (which could be argued either way) and not on its direct violation of the "Full Faith and Credence" clause.

Not that it's in any way a good law, but doesn't it make more sense to attack it on the most directly unconstitutional bits?
