So, I made it. Another 104 miles over 12 hours. I was biking harder and faster most the time today, so I guess I ended up needing more rest breaks. Poor trade off, obviously. Towards the end, I ended up in a weird state where it was easier to speed up moderate slopes than it was to speed down them. Either I leveled up in biking, or it was the early stages of heat exhaustion. Not sure, but it was interesting while it lasted.

I'm a big sweaty ball of stiffness now. I've got stiffness overflowing my legs and being exported to my spleen, in violation of several trade agreements. My left Achilles' tendon is thumbing its sword and looking at me like I just killed its gay lover. My knees are only as decoration at the moment, and forwarding request for any further movement to their lawyers. But, hell, 210 miles over 2 days. Let 'em riot.

Things that suck:
  • Frail meatbodies
  • The sun
  • No shade
  • Hills
  • No shade on hills in the sun
Things that are pretty cool:
  • Completing an 8 year old, previously failed goal.
Tomorrow I will write about the trip from a perspective which I don't think any of you will guess.

My left Achilles' tendon is thumbing its sword and looking at me like I just killed its gay lover.

My guess is from the the perspective of your left Achilles' tendon's gay lover.

(I second the nomination for Best Turn-of-Phrase.)

Meatbodies are cowards. They kick you when you're down.

You're welcome to come over and soak in the hot tub if you think it'll help un-frail the meatbody.

Congrats on finishing!

Congrats on completing the trek! That's quite an accomplishment.

Sleep, mild painkillers, and bananas, may all help ease the protests of a hard-used body. Hope you recover from the physical discomforts soon!
