I don't care if it is a tool of Chinese cultural imperialism. I want to ride on the new Qinghai-Tibet line. Pressurized train cars at 5,072 meters up! I'm glad someone still has vision and lofty goals, even if it isn't us.

The 'Freedom Tower' should be the tallest building in the world, dammit. And have a better name. We suck.

The imperialism isn't just cultural, o Finned One. They're trying to snarf the land. I'll admit, though, that it would be a cool train ride.

They snarfed the land 50 years ago. I'm not sure what the statute of limitations is on something like that, but I'm pretty willing to view it as a fait accompli at this point.

Nah, if Russia can have to give up its relatively-newly-vassalized states, there's still a shot at China having to let go of Tibet.

I meant more that the snarfing is old history, and this train line isn't really part of that.

Think the Chinese gov't is shitty - particularly w/ respect to Tibet - but I must admit, when I read about the rail line, I had the following reaction: "Ooooh, I wanna ride!!!"
