real engineering

Finland is moving ahead with plans for long-term internment of nuclear waste. All in all, I think the world would be a better place if we had more engineering projects that needed to take the possibility of future ice ages into account.

sounds like it'll be the newest hotness for disposing incriminating bodies

The waste disposal issue is a strong argument against nuclear power. We have no reason to believe we can provide the needed containment.

I wish we'd get smart about energy issues:

Nuclear is expensive and dangerous.

Hydrogen is not a fuel, it is a battery. (WTF is with all the "hydrogen economy" hype?)

etc.

No it isn't. Nuclear energy is very much the best approach to curbing both our eviromental impact and our energy needs. Storage should be properly handled, but there's no reason that it can't be.

enviromental, even. heh.
