Idea for the next big crossover meme: Find out when the next high resolution mapping pass of a local field for Google Maps will be. Go there and do something that will be visible in the images. If you want to think bigger, gather a large group of people at Black Rock or similar location for the next pass and doing some huge modern Nazca lines.

I reckon it's only awhile before building rooftops are used for advertising, with north = up orientation.

And it's already being done near major airports. San Jose and Phoenix both have some examples of building-roof advertising.

That would be cool, but difficult. I would imagine that Google is buying photos from more than one source (satellite and aerial mapping services). I could of course be wrong.

Actually, the Google Map photo of the Burning Man site looks like it was taken during set-up. The grid is visible in the picture, and you can see some campsites already in place. I don't know the lat/long coordinates, but if you search on Gerlach, NV then follow the roads northeast, there it is.
