I spent the morning in a meeting with a researcher who wants to use our survey application on PDAs for HIV questionnaires in Peru and Kenya.

Cools elements to this:
  1. Adapting the survey app to display nicely on a PDA will be actually interesting work, and let me make some improvements to the code that I have been wanting to do for some time.
  2. The survey prototype has a transgendered option in the demographics section.
  3. My software being used on three continents.
  4. The outside chance of a site visit or two, particularly since the Kenya installation would have to run from a local server.

Nice to feel slightly excited about work for once...

I don't think many people will admit to being trans in Peru...

Could be wrong, but that feel just didn't happen while I was there.

I was surprised myself, but this is targeting urban, HIV-positive users. It could be a standard option in the HIV corner of public health for all I know.
