I mowed our lawn today with a push-mower borrowed from [livejournal.com profile] ilmarinen. (Thanks again!) It was the first time I've mowed a lawn in about 8 years. I can't say I missed it, but I'm pretty impressed with the push-mower. Remarkably... civilized. No loud roar, no hand-numbing vibration, no noxious odor. I'll need to get a wider model when I buy one myself, though.

I finally bought a good guitar case for my 6 string. That has been on my list of largish-ticket items for a good four years. In fact, I think that list is actually empty at the moment, which is a nice feeling. It won't remain that way for particularly long, but it's good to know that my materialism isn't insatiable.

I also found out that Visa had put a hold on my credit card because they thought the SS1 roadtrip purchases were suspicious. But only for transactions greater than $75, which is why I hadn't noticed until today. What I don't get it why purchases in California trigger alarms, but not ones in Alaska. Blah. Having a credit card come back denied is unpleasantly embarrassing.

Edit: Oh yeah, I also ordered DSL for the new place. Business class ADSL 1.5M down/256K up through Speakeasy. Screw you, Qwest. And a slightly smaller screw you, TheRiver.
