How did you get "Volvo thinks you're a waste of oxygen" from an article about a concept car designed by women that had some good ideas that might be implemented across the entire Volvo line?
Magnets on the seat covers. I realize I may be the last woman left on earth who actually uses pockets, as evidenced by the treatment of pockets in women's clothing, but the idea of putting the credit cards in my wallet next to magnets for long stretches of time is alarming.
They probably didn't solve the short woman seatbelt problem, either. (Breasts move the shoulder belt around. Breasts and a too-high shoulder belt equal strangulation. I know women who refuse to wear shoulder belts because of this.)
And thanks, but I like the ability to choose my own mechanic, not have one chosen for me by Volvo and 802.11b.
Somebody mentioned in discussing this that a car manufacturer made a pink car a while back in an attempt to attract women. A pink car that came with a matching handbag. *shudder*
Peoplewatching is one of my hobbies. This particular item of concept design has been very fruitful. I have seen many forceful reactions. Including obviously thinking females who have liked the idea: http://www.livejournal.com/users/misia/291937.html
