I just -- successfully -- replaced the alternator in our car. I'm not supposed to do stuff like that. Too cool.
Well, okay, it wasn't completely successful. The drivebelt wasn't completely seated the first time I started the car and one edge abraded a bit before I noticed. Fortunately I had bought a spare while at the parts store, just to have around. Unfortunately I left it on the counter there and will have to go pick it up later today. So I might have to change the drivebelt in the near future, a procedure I am learning to loathe deeply. I'll keep an eye on the belt to see if the damage seems to be spreading.
